The West Valley Mavericks Foundation Gives Back

The West Valley Mavericks Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that proudly supports the West Valley in a variety of ways. The foundation aims to develop and support programs that serve to improve the quality and future of the communities. Their mission is to assist children and families and help people in need.

Charity – The West Valley Mavericks Foundation have given over $4.2MM to charity with over $3.4MM directly impacting charities in the West Valley

Community – The West Valley Mavericks Foundation has hosted free and ticketed events in the West Valley providing entertainment to more than 170,000 people

Culture – Through donations to West Valley Charities and hosting of world class events including athletes, speakers, and entertainers from across the World, the West Valley Mavericks have supported arts and culture throughout the West Valley

Commerce – The West Valley Mavericks Foundation has had a direct economic impact to the West Valley in excess of $11,329,865.33"

OUR MISSION:
The West Valley Mavericks Foundation’s mission is to assist families, children, and others in need and to improve the quality of life specifically in the West Valley communities through donations to Arizona-based organizations. Our organization also grants awards to beneficiaries annually with funding amounts changing annually.

DEADLINES:
Grant Application closes January 15th, 2025.

FUNDING GUIDELINES:
To be eligible, a charity must hold a current 501(c)(3) non-profit status and be active in Arizona. The West Valley Mavericks Foundation reserves the right to accept or reject any application and to approve or disapprove any proposal for funding, including incomplete applications. The West Valley Mavericks Foundation also reserves the right to change the application criteria at any time. Please refer to the list below for funding guidelines. Other guidelines may apply and all applications will be evaluated on an individual basis.

CRITERIA:
In order to be considered for a grant greater than $1,000, the non-profit organization must have had 501(c)(3) status for more than three years.

The West Valley Mavericks Foundation does NOT provide funding to:

  • Organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national origin, marital status, age, disability, or veteran Individuals,Political, labor or fraternal organizations.

  • Funding advocacy or lobbying activities for issue related topics.

  • Funding medical or scientific research.

  • Endowments, fellowships or individual scholarships.

  • Religious organizations, churches, or programs that are purely denominational in purpose.

  • Foundations or organizations, which are themselves, grant-making entities.

  • Individual schools and their support organizations (including Booster Clubs, PTA/PTO’s, athletic teams, bands, performing arts groups, alumni associations or reunions).

  • Funding debt reduction campaigns.

  • Funding for general operating needs or ongoing support.

  • Funding for project’s and/or program’s outside of Maricopa County, unless the endeavor serves primarily Maricopa County residents, status.
